The State Theatre relies on a community of volunteers who will support the operation and future of the theatre. We have numerous volunteer opportunities available to the community.

Volunteer Job Descriptions:
Box Office
One volunteer will be selling tickets at the box office for all movies and events. You should have experience handling money in a fast-paced environment. Point of sale software and cash register use. Arrive 30 minutes before box office opening, dress is casual. Friendly and upbeat personality.
Ticket Collector
One volunteer will be collecting tickets inside the lobby doors. Arrive 30 minutes before box office opening, dress is casual. Friendly and upbeat personality.
Usher/Greeter
Two, or three volunteers to help people to their seats, answer any questions, and hand out programs, if needed. Ushers will also help clean after the show. Arrive 30 minutes before the box office opening, dress is black pants, white collar shirt. Friendly and upbeat personality.
Concessions
A few volunteers will be necessary for concessions. This is a very fast paced environment. Computer skills are needed, as well as a friendly and energetic personality. Point of sale software and cash register use. Dress is casual Arrive 30 minutes before box office opening.
Neighborhood Street Team
Posting flyers and special events in the community to get the word out.
Office Support / Grant Writing / Fundraising
Office skills are necessary, as well as knowledge in the particular area of service. Data entry, filing, updating our website, social media, and databases frequently.
Projection/ Lighting/ Sound
Experience and training are necessary for this field to volunteer for any of these areas.
